Open Day 2018
Saturday 21st April 2018
Our 2018 Open Day in April was a great success, on show in the Stallion Parade were 27 stallions including Big Star, Arko III, Jaguar Mail and Ramiro B all of whom were available for viewing in the stables as well. There was a parade of 2017 foals bred at Twemlows, and as part of our support of the RBST Heavy Horse Appeal, an arena viewing of Twemlow’s own Suffolk mare Diamond, and the stallion Craikhow Hall Jensen who was standing at Stallion AI Services.
Our outdoor marquee was filled with an increased selection of trade stands ranging from a tack shop to breed societies, feed supplements, and The National Foaling Bank.
The ever popular food hall in which local merchants sold cheese, chutneys and jams, pies, coffee and tea, and much more, as well as Percy Pig providing everyone with hot roast pork baps throughout the day.
Charity Auction 2018
In a change to previous silent auctions, this year the charity auction was open to bids a week before the Open Day and from online participants, resulting in a number of bidding wars for the most desirable prizes, and raised £6,000 for The Rare Breed Survival Trust Heavy Horse Appeal.
