Embryo Transfer Centre

Twemlows Stud Farm specialises in Embryo Transfer.   Our expert resident vets can transfer fresh, transported or frozen embryos at the stud.  We can Artificially Inseminate (AI) and flush your mare here at the stud and then transfer any resulting embryos to recipient mares.  Alternatively your own local vet can AI and flush your mare and then the embryos are transported to the stud and transferred into our recipient mares.  We can also transfer frozen embryos produced from OPU and ICSI.  The embryos are carefully thawed prior to transfer to a recipient.

We have a large recipient mare herd, which are all reproductively sound and of varying sizes or alternatively you can provide your own recipient mares.  Please call or email us to find out more about our embryo transfer services.

As a result of the demand we have for embryo transfer work, we are often looking for recipient mares who are over 16.1hh, sport horse types, who for some reason are looking for a good home, aged 3 to 9 years, paddock sound, with no stable vices. Our recipient mares are usually gifted to us, often because they are unrideable.  If you have a mare who you think may be suitable as a recipient, please call us to discuss gifting her to us.

Recipient mare Aurora with her 2015 Woodlander Supertramp foal out of donor mare Lady III	All 3 foals seen above were born in 2012 sired by Plot Blue who recently competed in the 2012 London Olympics out of donor mare Ulette. The 3 foals were the result of 2 flushes, all being born very close together.
